Kyushu Dental University Chi-Yu Kuan
It’s very glad to have this chance to visit
Kyushu Dental University. Before starting the journey, I was nervous and hoped
I made a good impression.
When we arrived the university, we found
that teachers and students were really friendly and kind to us. ⾼高橋せんせい and Mana lead
us to familiar with the school rapidly, the environment is spacious and new.
Then we went to hospital where is just next to school. There is a tall building
and each floor has different functions which was amazed me because only
dentistry can be subdivided into so many departments. We also saw students of
dental hygiene did their internship in every department.
Not
only visiting their hospital, but we joined the class of instrument sharpening
which was totally different with class in Taiwan. Students needed to follow
steps by steps from teacher and practice by themselves. After training, all of
us got the certificate of instrument sharpening which proves you can do this
job in hospital or clinic.
Out of the school, we went to Harada
dental clinic and Shouno dental clinic. We learned the importance of hygienists
in clinic. And the Japanese government has clearly policy about hygienists
which helps hygienists’ employment rate and indispensable.
Last day in Kitakyushu, we visited シルバーサンホーム where many elders lived. The hygienist introduced how to help older
people clean their mouths and train their oral functions. We also tried the special
lunch for elders. It was surprised us
because we never thought that mashed food can be tasty! After that we left
Kitakyushu, ending the
trip which full of memories with gratitude.
This experience of exchange program has
already left a deep influence in my heart, and inspired me that how important
of our work.
