Fa-Tzu Tsai 2017/7/9- EXPERIENCE FEELINGS

During this exchanging activity, I learned a lot of knowledge and skills from institution facility of long-term care people, hospital of rehabilitation and the class from Kyushu Dental University.

In the long-term care institution, we found that the staff and system of that institution are very kind and diligent to the elderlies in the care center. They think love, sincere, thankful, giving are the most important things in their mind, so they will give the elderlies the most dignity life in the rest of their life. They are not only give the elderlies a clean space and comfortable room but also the most suitable living plan for every elderly. For example, there are some elderlies with no teeth, so they will prepare the soft meal for them, but the meal is also looked very delicious, it tastes as well as the original food.

In the rehabilitation hospital, we found the system of the hospital is very complete. They help their patients not only their wound from the accident or disease but also their caring management plan after they recovered. They hire dental hygienists, language therapists, Physical therapist to train their patients not only their limbs activity but also their swallowing ability and speaking ability. They help their patients be recovered from their problems in three months, and in the hospital, there are a lot of activities to help the patients to live by themselves after leaving the hospital. The activity for example like cooking, hand making, woodworking...etc. The staffs are very kind to their patients and also doing everything in hardworking and orderly.

In the class of Kyushu Dental University and Kyushu Dental Hospital , I learned a lot of skills and knowledge of being a great dental hygienists. I have learned how to doing the oral care to the elderlies with disease, and how to sharp the tools of removing the calculus and what will a dental hygienists do for the patients in the hospital. The education for the dental hygiene students are very complete and professional. We learned a lot from the lesson, it’s really helpful.

We also go to a dental clinic to learn what will a dental hygienist doing in the dental clinic. It’s also give us a lot of nice experience.

The days in Japan are very enriched, we learned a lot of things from the hospital, the dental clinic, and the school, it’s really helpful to my ability of being a dental hygienist and the professional in the oral academic field.
